Supervise and monitor clients at all times. Clients shall be kept within job coach's line of sight.
Teach and reinforce appropriate work attitudes, behaviors and daily living skills.
Foster a positive image of community placement.
Adhere to Beacon Group's philosophy of using patience and sensitivity when dealing with clients, utilizing a positive approach in any situation.
Complete Monthly Progress Reports on each individual.
Report any concerns regarding a client to the appropriate Program Manager.
In conjunction with the Program Manager, maintain good communication with parents, group home staff, DDD/VR case managers, etc., regarding any situation that might affect any individual.
In conjunction with team members, assist with the development of individual service program plans, giving input regarding strengths, needs objectives, long-term goals, job skills and chart client objectives.
Maintain an updated substitute manual for the department, assuring pertinent employee information is available. Train and supervise substitute as assigned.
Complete incident reports in accordance with Beacon Group policy
Participates in and/or conducts time studies at work sites.
Accurately complete daily time sheets.
Ensure medications are properly stored and administered to clients if needed.
Develop a work method for each job within work site to assure that teaching method and production are as efficient as possible.
Ensure acceptable quality of all completed work (do work if necessary).
Ensure proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and site vehicle. Report problems to appropriate person.
Educate employers and the community in general about Beacon Group programs, various disabilities, and vocational implications
Act as a liaison between Beacon and job site management. Coordinate production priorities with site management, scheduling of work, assignment of new tasks.
Attend training and yearly review on the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and Beacon's Exposure Control Policy. Understand and follow the Standard and Exposure Control Program
Report any potentially dangerous situations to supervisor and Human Resources. Take steps necessary to protect clients and staff until the situation is corrected.
In the event of an industrial accident or illness, in conjunction with supervisor, complete an accident investigation and report to Human Resources.
Ensure clients comply with heat/sun precautions and that all personnel wear required clothing and footwear while at work site.
Vehicle (if Applicable)
Ensure that routine maintenance is performed and that van is in safe running order.
Complete Vehicle inspection as outlined in the Beacon Driver's manual. Report any problems immediately to Supervisor and/or Fleet Department.
Conduct monthly vehicle evacuation drills and complete a written report on the drill.
Complete vehicle mileage forms on a daily basis.
Maintain a clean vehicle, which includes cleaning the inside and outside on a regular basis
Operate vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with local and state laws.
Ensure all passengers wear seat belts.
Report and record accidents in a timely manner to supervisor.
Know location of first aid kit, fire extinguisher, Personal Protection Kit and roadside triangles.
